THE CHARGING BULL
After the financial turmoil of the 1987 stock market crash, sculptor Arturo Di Modica created the Charging Bull.
He financed the sculpture himself. It was not originally commissioned by Wall Street or New York City.
In December 1989, Di Modica brought the massive bronze bull to Lower Manhattan and installed it near the New York Stock Exchange.
The Bull became associated with strength, resilience, optimism and the determination to keep moving forward.
